How To Use EZ Categories and Optimized Custom Categories
EZ Groups now contain lists of the highest-performing NDCs, broken out by specialty, to streamline the search, save credits, and help the user to choose the best possible NDCs with each fill.

EZ Groups
Currently, there are 9 EZ Groups (Dental, Dermatology, General, HRT, OBGYN, Pain/Surgical, Personal Injury, Podiatry and Wellness). All categories of NDCs will be continually updated, so that the user always see the best options based on real-world data.
With Specialties Custom Categories can be group into as many Specialties as needed. For example The user can create Specialties that can group Custom Categories referring to a Payer or to an Insurance Company as-well to a Specialty itself like: “Dermatology.”
New Custom Groups/Categories/Sub-Categories
The User current Custom Groups will be displayed at the top as always on “My Groups” and by clicking on each one of them, Categories and Sub-categories will be displayed.
We grouped the system Groups (“EZ Groups”) by specialty. However, in your Custom Groups, the user can choose to group them by preferences. For instance, they could group by specialty, payor, therapy, or any other classification that best fits the Pharmacy's workflow.

The 3 Tier System
We designed a 3 Tier System in Custom Groups to give the user enhanced flexibility to customize the interface to the Pharmacy’s needs.
Create sub-categories under your Custom Categories it is quicker and more drilled-down searches.
The Groups, displayed as buttons act as filters. Meaning that when clicking on any of those buttons, categories and sub-categories displayed below, containing the highest-performing NDCs for each.

EZ Groups will help to easily find the NDCs the user is looking for just in seconds. Once the EZ Group needed is selected, they are further sorted by type, saving time and guesswork with each fill.
Even if the user is pretty confident that the EZ Custom Groups lists contain the best (and most often used) NDCs in a given category, there may be some the user is unaware of.
Maybe a new drug has just come on the market
Perhaps there is one that has changed in its adjudication
Maybe one that was once great, has fallen out of coverage favor with insurers/PBMs
Perhaps a change in the cost of goods or availability for that drug has made it less (or more) desirable
There are a host of reasons for changes in an NDC's performance status and they are constantly evolving. That is why our team has designed and built a done-for-you list of high performance NDCs that can keep your EZ Custom Groups optimized as the Pharmacy's needs evolve and change.
